Mars printer and resin

Bought a Mars resin 3D printer and standard photopolymer resin. Order was easy. Shipped fast, got it in 4 days. Printer works well. Resin too. Happy with the purchase.

Fun with the robot car kit

Got the robot car kit for my nephew a few weeks ago, and it's been a blast! It arrived pretty quick, maybe 5 days after I ordered it. Putting it together was actually kinda fun, not too complicated, and the instructions were easy to follow. My nephew (and me, NGL) really enjoyed building it and then playing with it. Everything worked right out of the box, which is always nice. Felt like good quality stuff too, not flimsy or anything. Definitely a good gift idea for anyone into techy projects.

OrangeStorm Giga experience

I recently bought the OrangeStorm Giga during a pre-order deal, which saved me a good chunk of money. The anticipation was high, and when it finally shipped, it arrived safely. Assembly was more involved than I expected, with quite a few steps, but it wasn't overly difficult thanks to decent instructions. The print quality has been surprisingly good for such a large format FDM printer, especially after some fine-tuning. My main gripe is with the software integration; it felt a bit clunky compared to other brands I've used. It's not a deal-breaker, but there's room for improvement there. Also, finding community support for this specific model seems a bit harder than for their more popular resin printers. Still, for the price I paid, it's a solid machine.

Good printer, slow support

I ordered a Neptune FDM 3D printer and some PLA filament back in early May. The ordering process on the site was pretty straightforward, no real hiccups there. Shipping took about 8 days to get to me in Arizona, which felt a bit long, but it arrived well-packaged. Setting up the printer was mostly easy, the instructions were clear enough for a first-timer like me. My only real issue came up when I had a small problem with the heated bed not reaching temperature consistently after a couple of weeks. I contacted customer support through their website. It took them nearly 3 days to respond to my initial ticket, and then another 2 days for each back-and-forth email. They eventually helped me troubleshoot it, and it turned out to be a loose connection, but the response time could definitely be improved. The printer itself has been working great since then, making some decent prints. The PLA filament quality was also good, no stringing or clogs. Overall, a solid product but be prepared for a bit of a wait if you need help.

Are those pre-order discounts usually pretty decent? Looking at the new OrangeStorm Giga and wondering if it's worth pre-ordering.

R Ryan Marsh 3 weeks ago
From my experience with their pre-orders, you usually get a good chunk off, like $20-$50 sometimes. Plus sometimes a free roll of filament or something.

Yeah, I've seen them do good pre-order deals. Often it's a direct price cut rather than a coupon code, so it's applied automatically.

I have a promo code from a newsletter signup, but I also see a flash sale going on. Can I stack these discounts?

T Tara W. 4 weeks ago
Nah, usually you can't stack codes. It's one or the other most of the time. You'll probably have to pick the better deal.

I tried stacking once and it didn't work. Their system just takes the best single discount, I think. Bummer, but that's how most places do it.

Are the Arduino starter kits actually good for total beginners? Like, someone who's never coded before?

O Omar Walsh 1 month ago
Yeah, totally! I got one for my nephew and he picked it up quick. The instructions are pretty clear and there are tons of online tutorials too.

Definitely. I used their super starter kit to learn Arduino stuff. The projects ramp up nicely and all the parts are compatible with the official Arduino IDE.

Does ELEGOO ship to Canada? Or just US for now?

A Alex Osei 1 month ago
I've ordered from Canada before, but I think they ship from their international warehouses or maybe through a distributor. It might take a bit longer than US orders though.

They definitely ship to Canada. I got my Mars 3 Pro shipped here a while back. Just check the shipping options at checkout for your address.

Considering a Saturn 3 Ultra vs. a Phrozen Mighty 8K. Is ELEGOO still a good choice or are the others pulling ahead now?

P Phil 1 month ago
ELEGOO is solid, man. My Saturn 2 has been a workhorse for ages. Phrozen is good too but the value with ELEGOO is hard to beat.

I've got an ELEGOO and a Phrozen. Honestly, both are great. For the price, ELEGOO gives you a lot of bang for your buck, especially with resin and parts being readily available.
